Marcus DeSieno

Archival pigment Print

21”x 27”

This work investigates the state-sanctioned violence of “prevention through deterrence” US border policies and their deadly consequences along the borderlands of the American Southwest. I photograph the exact locations where the bodies of migrants have been found in the Sonoran Desert. These landscape photographs act as a space for somber remembrance and as an examination of the cruelty of white supremacy woven into the fabric of the United States.
