Collar

$1,400.00
sold out

Heidi Jensen

Gouache, Charcoal on Arches Hot Press

22”x 15”

A section of a rawhide lariat twists up like a snake toward a delicate, embroidered collar, relics of the West from the collection of the Pioneer Memorial Museum in Salt Lake City, Utah. The collar and the lariat, designed to encircle the neck, can both be objects of constraint. The lariat refuses to be inert, and shifts in color from its drab brown tone to saturated hues that do not belong to the original subject.
