The three pieces submitted all depict specfic environments overrun by flames. "Victorious" illustrates the moderately successful strategies of local vineyards to continue production under the threat of wildfire and smoke damage. The green varietals have saved the day with their short growing season and the nonuse of the skin. "Draco Firescape" concerns the loss of life and habitat due to the creep of wildfire into the usually green and verdant western Oregon forests, while "Fire in the Log Yard" addresses the actual event of wildfire devoring a holding yard for logs to be milled and exported to China.
